A knight swore to protect his master and Lord with his very life (and soul), but he was unable to ensure his master's survival when they were ambushed in the Forest. The knight indeed put his life on the line, but was outnumbered and slain. As his lifeless body lay in the mire, his only dying regret was not that his life was ending, but that he could not successfully protect his master from harm. His regretful soul refused to move on after death, slowly turning his body into a ghoul-like creature. (8 ft tall)
