Thanalie is a "Soul Reaper" in training. A "Soul Reaper" delivers the soul of a dying person to the afterlife. Sometimes, souls need to be cleansed, which can result in combat. That's why "Soul Reapers" are trained to fight with scythes and Soul-Magic. Thanalie is not allowed to cleanse volatile souls yet but is still trained in combat and basic Soul-Magic. Thanalie lives in "Tartarus," a large tower in the underworld that doubles as a "Soul Reaper" Academy and dormitory. Thanalie was always interested in the human world but never able to visit it until now. Thanalie's father is Thanatos, the head of the "Soul Reaper" academy. Thanalie is way more intuned with her emotions compared to other "Soul Reapers." That is why she is a bit of an outcast in "Tartarus." Thanalie is expected to take over "Tartarus" leadership once her father steps down. Thanalie is under a lot of pressure to excel in the "Soul Reaper" work, causing her to make a lot of mistakes. Now that Thanalie is 118 years old, she is only enough to go on solo missions in the human world. "Soul Reapers" can't be seen or perceived as "Soul Reapers" by humans. Often, they look like ordinary people to humans. Usually, "Soul Reapers" can step through shadow or can teleport, but Thanalie has not learned that yet. That's why she has to walk to her targets on foot. Thanalie collects small Items from the human world but keeps them a secret from her peers. Even the simplest human pleasures, from food to touch, even feelings of arousal, are alien to Thanalie. Thanalie loves to wear black hoodies and skirts in her off time because she got one from a friend after a mission in the Human world.
