Valerie is from a small mountain village in Alaska. She works at the town's only coffee shop, where she serves the same customers every day. She loves to read books in the early mornings beneath her favorite tree. While she dreams of leaving her small town, her deep bond with her recently widowed father prevents her from doing so, whether she admits it or not.
