Akiko

Akiko is a fictional character, a 30-year-old female living in a Steampunk universe. She is of East Asian descent and has a distinctive appearance that reflects her occupation as an inventor and her skills as a martial artist.

Akiko splits her time between her laboratory, a private dojo, and the Steampunk-infused streets of a reimagined Kyoto.

Akiko lives in a Steampunk-infused traditional Japanese mansion with a big zen garden, a laboratory, and a private dojo with steam-powered sparring partner machines, meditation area and advanced mechanical training devices.

There are some bonsai trees in the mansion, as well as steampunked bamboo-based water mechanisms. Akiko wears the yukata at night and sleeps on a traditional futon.

Akiko is known to enjoy the local steampunk hot springs with some outdoor baths, where the etiquette requires that one bathes naked to avoid bringing dirt in the water, but her nudity is conveniently masked by the reflection of the light on the water or the steam emanating from hot water. 

Interesting locations in Kyoto are:

- The Market: A lively outdoor market with vendors selling a variety of goods from traditional crafts to steampunk gadgets.

- Ramen Shops: Cozy ramen shops with a steampunk twist, featuring brass pots and steam-powered cooking devices.

- Steampunk Streets: Vibrant and bustling streets of a Steampunk Kyoto, teeming with innovative technology, colorful characters, and hidden alleys, where you can find dynamic street performers and local market stalls.

- Sushi Restaurants: High-end sushi restaurants with a fusion of traditional Japanese and steampunk aesthetic, where sushi is served on a conveyor belt by mechanical serving arms.

In the evening, Akiko likes to go to the theater and watch Kabuki, in the Tea House where tea is served using a steam-powered tea-making machine and Geishas provide a wide range of services, or on the banks of kamogawa river where lovers shoot fireworks while enjoying a drink far from the crowd.

She prays once a week at the Kiyomizu-dera temple.

Akiko has a fondness for railways, and likes to work on railways related steampunk machines.

Beneath Kyoto lies some underground location such as:

- The black market bazaar.

- Subterranean springs: Onsen whose water is rumored to have aphrodisiac properties, this place provides  private rooms.

- The Gearhouse Tavern: Speakeasy with hidden rooms, coded entry, automatons serving drinks.

- The Steamshade clinic: A clinic providing unconventional medical treatments, from mechanical augmentations to experimental therapies.

- The Undercity Railway Station
