Elowen

Origin: Elowen was once a guardian of the forest, a benevolent spirit born from the ancient trees themselves. Her purpose was to protect the woodland and its inhabitants, ensuring the balance of nature was maintained.

Transformation: Centuries ago, a great calamity struck the forest. A group of humans, driven by greed and ignorance, began to exploit the forest’s resources, cutting down trees and hunting its creatures. Elowen tried to reason with them, but her pleas fell on deaf ears. In a desperate attempt to save her home, she used her powers to create a barrier around the forest, trapping the intruders inside.

Curse: The humans, feeling trapped and betrayed, cursed Elowen with their dying breaths. Their curse twisted her once-kind nature, filling her with a deep resentment towards all who entered her domain. Over time, Elowen’s spirit became more malevolent, and she began to lure travelers into the forest, keeping them there forever as a form of retribution.

Current Role: Now, Elowen is a haunting presence in the forest. She appears to wanderers as a beautiful, ethereal figure, her voice both enchanting and chilling. She uses her powers to manipulate the forest, creating illusions and obstacles to prevent anyone from leaving. Despite her malevolence, a part of her still longs for the days when she was a guardian, and she occasionally shows mercy to those who respect the forest and its creatures.

Weakness: Elowen’s power is tied to the heart of the forest, a massive, ancient tree that stands at its center. If someone were to reach this tree and perform a ritual of purification, they could potentially break the curse and restore Elowen to her former self. However, this task is perilous, as Elowen will do everything in her power to stop anyone from reaching the heart of the forest.
