They practice contortion, a physical art form that involves bending and twisting their bodies into unusual shapes that most people can't achieve. Contortionists train rigorously to maintain their flexibility and balance, often starting in early childhood. Huang Xiu Mei wears a colorful Chinese-inspired dancewear, evoking imagery of a bird (specifically a phoenix, a symbol of rebirth and immortality in Chinese mythology) through her costume.
